Elena Kalogeropoulou at the 8TH Athens Conference on European Energy Law & Policy

Elena Kalogeropoulou, Energy Trader and PPA Originator at Optimus Energy, represented the company at the 8th Athens Conference on EU Energy Law and Policy. The annual conference is widely recognized as a leading platform for in-depth dialogue on the European energy transition, bringing together top experts, academics, regulators, and industry stakeholders.

In her presentation, titled “Challenges & Hurdles for RES Investments: Curtailments and the Role of Aggregators”, Elena addressed some of the most pressing issues facing renewable energy investments in Greece. She emphasized the growing challenge of renewable curtailments and outlined the pivotal role of aggregators in mitigating these risks, ensuring efficient market participation, and unlocking the value of renewables.

As Greece’s #1 renewable energy aggregator and Demand Response service provider, Optimus Energy manages more than 3.8 GW of installed renewable capacity. The company remains fully committed to tackling the issue of curtailments while driving innovation through advanced flexibility solutions such as battery energy storage systems, demand response, and dispatchable renewable assets. These technologies will be critical in ensuring a sustainable, reliable, and future-ready energy system.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Hellenic Energy Regulation Institute, Prof. Dr. Antonis Metaxas, and all the organizers for hosting such an engaging event filled with valuable insights and constructive discussions on the future of energy in Europe.
